I remember when Big K was about three months old, and I just felt OFF.
My focus, my energy, my performance, my execution. None of it was where I knew it could (or should) be.
I'd wake up on a normal Tuesday with a full day ahead of me, big intentions, and a list of important things I wanted to get done. But somehow my day would get hijacked.
An email here. A little fire over there. Someone needed something. Another notification. A quick task that seemed important enough to handle right then. I'd spend the morning ping-ponging between other people's priorities, putting out fires, and doing all sorts of things that felt productive.
Then I'd look up and it was noon. Then 2 PM. And somehow it was already 4.
And the work that actually mattered? The big, needle-moving projects that would grow my business and move my life forward? Still sitting there, untouched, exactly where I'd left them that morning.
So I'd push them to tomorrow. Again. Along with priorities like training my body, going on date nights, reading, spending time with God, and having fun with my friends.
Once I finally did end my workday…
I'd look back and realize that all I'd done, as my client Andy so elegantly puts it, was "squirrel the shit out of my day." Lots of activity, but very little meaningful progress.
Then I was supposed to return home and be a loving, present, and patient husband and father. The only problem was I had very little left in the tank. Kels and Big K were getting whatever was left of me after the workday had taken its share.
And the worst part?
It wasn't even a particularly bad day. It was just a normal Tuesday.
That was what bothered me so much. Because I knew what it felt like to operate at my best. I'd experienced plenty of seasons where I was locked in, energized, clear on what mattered, and consistently executing the right things.
But this season wasn't one of them. And to be fair, a lot had changed.
I'd gotten married, become a father, and taken on the responsibility of growing a business and providing for my family. My life had expanded considerably, and so had the demands on my time, energy, and attention.
So I did what I knew how to do. I went back to the drawing board. I tried different planners, productivity systems, and Notion dashboards, and consumed my fair share of productivity porn.
Some of it helped. Most of it didn't stick. And eventually I started to realize something.
Most of these daily systems were designed to make me a better worker. But I wasn't just a worker anymore.
I was a husband, a father, an entrepreneur, an athlete, a friend, and a man responsible for his own body, mind, and spirit. So even on days when I managed to get my important business work done, I'd sometimes look up and realize I hadn't done much of anything for the other arenas of my life that mattered.
I didn't need a system that made me more of a myopic worker. I needed one that helped me operate at my best as a whole man.
And that's why I started building what eventually became The Daily Attack Plan™.
For selfish reasons, initially.
I needed something that worked for my actual life, not some imaginary version of it where nobody interrupted me, my kids never needed anything, and every day unfolded exactly as planned.
I wanted to wake up knowing exactly what I was attacking, with a clear picture of the one to three things that actually mattered, what getting them done looked like, and how much time I realistically had to work on them.
I wanted to protect my best hours for that work instead of losing them to emails, admin, and productive distractions. And when the inevitable curveballs came, I needed a way to adjust, capture the loose ends, and make sure nothing important slipped through the cracks.
But just as importantly, I wanted to stay connected to the rest of my life. My body, my mind, my spirit, my marriage, my boys, and my brothers.
Because what good is getting everything done at work if you're too depleted to enjoy the life you're supposedly working so hard to build?
So I started putting the pieces together, testing them in my own days, figuring out what worked, and refining what didn't. And over time, the whole thing evolved into a pretty simple daily process that helped me start feeling like ME again.
Clear. Focused. Energized. Effective. Ending each day feeling proud instead of frustrated.
And it's been cool watching what's happened as other Entrepreneur Dads have started using the system, too.
Guys like Kyle, who had his most productive month in business in five years.
Or Adam, who put together three record months in a row in his business while staying in great shape and fostering more connection at home.
Or Sebastian, who saw a 20% boost in profit because he was "focusing more of his efforts on big projects while letting fewer of the little things slip through the cracks."
Different businesses. Different lives. Different challenges. But the same underlying idea.
You need a trusted process for making sure the things that matter most actually get done. Not just on the occasional perfect day, but on a normal Tuesday when life is happening all around you.
And that's exactly what I'm going to teach you next Tuesday inside The Daily Attack Plan™ workshop.
I'll walk you through the complete system I've developed and refined over the years for planning and executing my days like a pro, and give you a digital copy of The Daily Attack Planner so you can start putting it to work in your own life.
If you've been feeling like your days have a way of getting away from you, or you're constantly busy but somehow still behind on the things that matter most, I think you're going to get a lot out of this.
We go live Tuesday, November 3rd, at 2 PM Pacific. The replay and workshop resources are included if you can't make it live.
Grab your ticket for The Daily Attack Plan™ workshop here before registration closes Friday.
Because the goal isn't to have the occasional great day.
It's to have a daily system that helps you consistently win your Tuesdays.
Big love,
James
