You ain’t a samurai (yet)

Imagine I handed you an authentic Japanese sword.

Beautifully crafted. Perfectly balanced. Razor-sharp. The same kind of weapon a samurai might have carried into battle.

Pretty cool, right?

But here's a question. Does owning that sword make you a samurai?

Of course not.

You could have the finest sword in all of Japan, but without years of training, practice, and discipline, you'd still be a guy holding a really nice sword.

The sword is the tool. The skill is knowing how to use it.

And I've been thinking about this a lot lately as I've watched some of the results my clients are getting with The Daily Attack Plan™.

I'll have a client like Chris tell me, "The Daily Attack Plan changed my dang life."

Or Brian, who went from "I know what needs to get done, but I'm very good at justifying distractions to keep me from doing it" to closing a $60K deal because he started waking up with a clear plan of attack and getting the right things done every day instead of getting sucked into productive distractions.

Or Mike, who's sleeping better, doing less mental spinning, and feeling more in control of his days because things aren't constantly "slipping through the cracks" anymore.

Or Paul, who's loving what he calls "completion momentum," where even when his day doesn't go according to plan, he's still able to get his most important work done.

Or there's John, who told me:

"Our output in the past three days has been far and beyond anything I've experienced. I think that we've gotten two weeks of work done in three days."

How cool is that?

But then I'll see someone else who has the exact same Daily Attack Planner sitting on their desk and isn't getting anywhere near the same results.

Same tool. Very different outcomes. So what's the difference?

One has the sword. The other has learned how to use it.

And that's why I've always thought of The Daily Attack Plan™ as a system, not just a planner.

The planner itself is a great tool. I designed it to help you wake up with a clear plan of attack, get your most important work done before noon, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

In fact, you can download a free copy right from my website.

But having an intentionally designed planner and knowing how to use it to consistently execute what matters most in both your business and personal life are two very different things.

And that's exactly what I want to teach you next Tuesday inside The Daily Attack Plan™ workshop.

You'll get your own digital copy of The Daily Attack Planner, along with the complete system for putting it to work in your life.

Here's what you'll get and learn if you join me:

  1. Get your own digital copy of The Daily Attack Planner, including a full month's supply of pages ready to print or use on your tablet of choice.

  2. The simple 4-part daily planning and execution system my clients and I use to plan, execute, document, and debrief our days so our biggest priorities actually get done.

  3. How to plan tomorrow before today is over, so you can shut down work with a clear head, sleep better, and wake up knowing exactly what you're attacking.

  4. My method for identifying your 1 to 3 highest-impact priorities and their expected deliverables, so you're moving your business forward instead of spending eight hours being busy.

  5. The dead-simple process for calculating your work capacity and making realistic daily commitments, so you stop overloading your days with more than you can actually get done.

  6. My method for turning your daily priorities into realistic time blocks, so you know exactly what you're working on, when you're working on it, and how long you've got to get it done.

  7. How to escape the endless to-do list from hell, where you cross off 10 things, add 15 more, and still feel behind. Turn that overwhelming list into a clear, executable plan of attack.

  8. How to stop wasting your best hours on "productive distractions." The emails, admin, tweaking, and little tasks that keep you busy while the work that actually grows your business gets pushed to tomorrow.

  9. The secret to protecting your most valuable work from distractions and reactive firefighting, before emails, messages, and everyone else's priorities hijack your day.

  10. How to use focused work cycles to get your most important work done before noon, without burning through your best mental energy on low-priority work.

  11. My system for documenting your day and capturing loose ends, ideas, and unexpected tasks on the fly, so nothing gets forgotten or keeps bouncing around in your head.

  12. The simple way I stay on track when life throws me a curveball, so I can handle unexpected meetings, family responsibilities, and last-minute problems without derailing my priorities or spiraling back into reactive mode.

  13. How to build real accountability with yourself, so you become a man who consistently does what he says he's going to do, even when motivation is low.

  14. How to gamify your daily execution across the six major life arenas, so you're not winning in business while your health, marriage, kids, and friendships get neglected.

  15. The quick evening debrief I use to close out the day, see what actually got done, and make tomorrow better.

  16. The secret to breaking the "I'll do double tomorrow" cycle, where unfinished work keeps piling up and you're constantly playing catch-up.

We go live Tuesday, November 3rd, at 2 PM Pacific. And as usual, the replay and resources are included if you can't make it live.

Grab your ticket for The Daily Attack Plan™ workshop here before the doors close on Friday.

I'll give you the sword.

And I'll teach you how to use it.

The rest is up to you, Samurai. 🥷

Big love,

James

There's a common misbelief that I've found robs men of their ability to consistently execute at an elite level. And it came up during my Daily Attack Plan workshop Tuesday when I challenged one of the guys to stop using the word "hopefully." He'd said something along the lines of, "I'm hopefully in a transition season." And I stopped him. Why hopefully? You're either transitioning or you're not. You've either made the commitment or you haven't. He pushed back, and rightfully so. He explained...

Someone asked me the other day why I'm not posting on social media anymore. Instagram specifically, since that's where I've historically been most active. My answer was pretty simple: I don't work with short-form people, so I don't really make short-form content. A rather contrarian position these days, considering just about everyone seems to be competing for three to five seconds of your attention. Trying to stop your scroll, hijack your dopamine, and keep you entertained long enough to get...

It has recently been brought to my attention that I am something of a savant. A true trailblazer. A man whose genius deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Da Vinci and Einstein. And for what, you may ask? Walking. You see, I tend to be a little late to social media trends because I don't spend much time on those platforms. But I recently learned about a sensation that's been making the rounds on TikTok among Gen Zers. It's called silent walking. And get this. Here's how it works. You...
